Jesus Our Example
Daily Bible Verses
John 5:19 King James Version (KJV)
19. Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
While Jesus was on earth He depended on God's power so that He could be an example to us. He did not use His own Godly powers.
Daily Bible Verses
John 5:30 King James Version (KJV)
30. I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
Jesus submitted His will to the will of the Father, and therefore His ways were just, an example of how we too can be just.
Daily Bible Verses
John 8:28-29 King James Version (KJV)
28. Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
29. And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
On earth Jesus carried out the teaching of His Father, and He sought to please Him. That is His example to us to follow God's teachings in His word, the Bible, and for us to do what pleases God.
John 9:4 King James Version (KJV)
4. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
Jesus came to this earth to do the will of the Father, which was to save us from sin and its consequences. God wants us to seek to save others from their sins, by our example and witness, while we are still able to do so.
Daily Bible Verses
Matthew 26:39 King James Version (KJV)
39. And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
Even in regards to dying for us, Jesus submitted to the will of the Father that we might have everlasting life.
John 4:34 King James Version (KJV)
34. Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
The need to do the will of His Father was like food to Jesus' soul. What is it to you?
Daily Bible Verses
John 6:38 King James Version (KJV)
38. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
Jesus had 1 purpose for leaving heaven to come to this sinful planet earth, and that was to do God's will.
For God loved us so much that He gave His son to die for our sins. For the penalty for sin, disobeying God, is death, but God gave us a gift - eternal life, through Jesus willing sacrifice.

Daily Bible Verses
Matthew 14:23 King James Version (KJV)
23. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
If Jesus saw the need to take time to be alone to pray, how much more do we need to spend time in prayer, to have power to resist the temptations of the devil.
Daily Bible Verses
Acts 10:38 King James Version (KJV)
38. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
We also need the power of God's Holy Spirit to do His will. Pray for it. The Bible says God is more willing to give us His Holy Spirit than parent's desire to give gifts to their children.
Daily Bible Verses
Ephesians 5:1-2 King James Version (KJV)
1. Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2. And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
All Jesus' actions were based on love. And we are to love others as He loved us. In order to enter heaven we must perfect this love for one another.
Daily Bible Verses
Matthew 14:14 King James Version (KJV)
14. And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
If we reflect Christ's character we will show genuine compassion, sympathy, and love to others; and delight in doing so.
Daily Bible Verses
John 16:33 King James Version (KJV)
33. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Just as Christ went through trials so do we. And just as Christ overcame His trials so can we. Christ overcame the devil with the Word of God, "It is written". We too can overcome by learning and claiming the promises of God.
Daily Bible Verses
Luke 23:33 & 34 King James Version (KJV)
33. And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
34. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
As Jesus died on the cross He asked His Father to forgive His killers, an example to us to forgive those who do us wrong.
Psalm 68:19 King James Version (KJV)
19. Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.
Jesus is the supplier of our blessings, and He is worthy of our praise.
