When Mary and Joseph found Jesus in the Temple, after they had lost sight of him, he gave this response -

Luke 2:49 King James Version (KJV)

49. And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?

We too must do our Father's business, witnessing of Him.


 

John 10:10 King James Version (KJV)

10. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Jesus came to save us and give us everlasting life. However we have a choice to accept or reject His gift to us. It will not be forced upon us.




Exodus 15:2 King James Version (KJV)

2. The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.

The Lord God, God of god's, and God of my fathers, He is worthy to be praised. He is my salvation, is He yours?

11. It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:

12. If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

13. If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

We must die daily to self. Daily we must plead for the power to live righteous. And in this life we may suffer, but this world is not our final home. God is faithful that promised, and He promised He is coming back to save the righteous, and will make a new heaven and a new earth.

God Always Gives A Warning

Amos 3:7 King James Version (KJV)

7. Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

God always gives a warning before He does something. Even if the warning was given 2000 or more years ago, as found in the bible.




Genesis 6:13 King James Version (KJV)

13. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

God let Noah know in advance that He would destroy the earth with water. Noah preached it for 120 years, but the people living then didn't believe him, and only 8 were saved.

God always gives a warning, but do we listen -

Genesis 19:14 King James Version (KJV)

14. And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.

The angels warned Lot about Sodom And Gomorrah, Lot warned his married daughters and sons in law, but only Lot and his 2 unmarried daughters were saved.

His wife was turned into a pillar of salt for looking back. Her heart was still in Sodom. 10 righteous people could not be found to save the city from destruction.

Luke 17:26-27 King James Version (KJV)


26. And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

27. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

The people in Noah's time were busy with life as usual and didn't heed the warnings. So it will be when Christ comes again, many will be too busy to see the warning signs or prepare spiritually.

28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

Christ is coming again, so watch and pray.



Jesus gave the following warning about the temple in Jerusalem.

Mark 13:1-2 King James Version (KJV)

1. And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!

2. And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Jesus prophesied that the temple would be destroyed after his death. Today we can see the remnants of this temple; it is the Wailing Wall.

Jesus also prophesied the following about His second coming.

Mark 13:24-26 King James Version (KJV)

24. But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

25. And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

26. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

Just as the previous warning and prophesies came to pass, we can believe in the second coming of Christ, so watch and be ready.

11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

God's angels number more than 100 million; they are His messengers, ministers, and our helpers. God uses them to give messages to His servants and prophets, minister to us, and to help us in our time of need. They are ever present around us.

11. And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.

12. And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

13. And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;

Angels sent by God ministered to Jacob when he was discouraged and afraid, because he had to flee from his brother Esau, after stealing his birthright. These Angels directed Jacob's attention up to the Lord.

Many times we become absorbed with the problems around us, and God has to get us also to look up to Him who is able to help us.

11. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

God's angels watch over us and protect us, so pray for God's protection in your home, as you travel, as you work, and as you play.

1. And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.

2. And when Jacob saw them, he said, This is God's host: and he called the name of that place Mahanaim.

Jacob has left his father-in-law Laban's home and is going back home where his brother Esau is. Jacob had left home 20 years before because Esau wanted to kill him.

God had told Jacob 20 years before that he would give him the land, and now God is letting Jacob see that his angels are with him.

Wow, how would you feel if you could see not just 1 angel but angels travelling with you? Pray for God's presence and protection in your life.

7. And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

We may have troublesome times here on this earth, but we can rest assured that Jesus is coming again, with His angels, to take us to a better place that He has prepared for us.



Matthew 25:31 King James Version (KJV)

31. When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

When Christ comes the second time all the angels come with Him. That is why Revelation 8:1 says there was silence in heaven.

31. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

At Christ's second coming God's angels will gather the saints to meet Him in the air. Pray that you are among the elect.
