Matthew 24:37-39 King James Version (KJV)

37. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39. And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

In the days of Noah everyone was busy with life as usual. They did not believe the warnings.

The days of Lot in Sodom were also like the days of Noah. God promised Abraham He would not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah if he found ten righteous people in them, but only three were saved alive. The rest of Lot’s family did not believe the warnings or follow the instructions.

Luke 17:26-30 King James Version (KJV)

26. And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

27. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

28. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

29. But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

30. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

In the days of Noah God was patient. He did not want anyone to be lost. However the people refused to listen and obey. Today God is patient with us, but just as in the days of Noah and Lot the end will come, and many will be surprised.

2 Peter 3:9-10 King James Version (KJV)

9. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
