We need the early rain and the latter rain, the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, so we are prepared for the coming of the Lord.

James 5:7-8 King James Version (KJV)

7. Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

8. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

We need the early rain and the latter rain, the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, to help us live without sinning just as Jesus lived a sinless life.

Jeremiah 5:21-25 King James Version (KJV)

21. Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:

22. Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

23. But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

24. Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

25. Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

Now is the time to plead for the early rain so we are ready to receive the latter rain, for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

Hosea 6:1, 3 King James Version (KJV)

1. Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.

3. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.


Job 29:23 King James Version (KJV)

23. And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.
